Vanderbilt, Texas -
The latest big day in a recent string of big days for an Industrial volleyball star, coming on Monday.
Kylann Griffith, signing with Houston Baptist to play beach volleyball. Griffith helped lead Cobra volleyball to its first ever state championship last month. That was also the first ever team sports state championship in Industrial high school history. Griffith earned state tournament MVP honors, made the All-State tournament team, was named by the Texas Girls Coaches Association as the state 4A-3A-2A-1A Player Of The Year, and made the TGCA 3A All-State team. I talked with Kylann Griffith and Cobra volleyball head coach Kelsey Vasquez.
Said Griffith, "It's just crazy. I'm so blessed to be able to do it. This day's just a little different than all the other days I've had. This one is going off into the future. This day is something bigger."
Said coach Vasquez, "It's really cool because the girls get to see it. She's put in all the work and they saw that throughout the season. She's received all these superlatives. It's really good for the program. She completely led by example."
Kylann Griffith is also the valedictorian for the Industrial class of 2020.
