Hines plans redo at Dallas retail and industrial center - The Dallas Morning News

Developer and investor Hines said it plans to renovate more than a dozen retail and industrial buildings it purchased northwest of downtown Dallas.

Last month, the Houston-based commercial property firm bought the 738,198-square-foot Inwood Trade Center on Inwood Road near the Trinity River.

The 38-acre business park was built between the 1960s and late 1970s and was previously owned by Dallas developer Vantage Cos.

Hines has hired Dallas architect Omniplan to work on a makeover for the buildings, which are 98% leased to warehouse tenants and showroom retailers.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to reshape Inwood Trade Center into a modern last-mile logistics, showroom and creative retail center accommodating a wide variety of users,” Connor Tamlyn, director at Hines, said in a statement. ”This project represents a rare opportunity to acquire unique scale in an infill location.

“We look forward to acquiring more of these types of properties in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Hines’ plans for the property include redoing the building exteriors and adding new signs, lighting and landscaping.

Dallas property firm Holt Lunsford will lease the buildings.

JLL brokered the Inwood Trade Center sale.
